How to mount a monitor

So I'll be getting my shoulder rig here in a couple of days, and I'm looking all over and cannot find a decent method for mounting my monitor. I mean, I could go with the hot shoe mount, but thats really not ideal for me. I was looking for some sort of cheap arm type options. can you guys steer me in the right direction.

You need the last to attach the first to the rod.

how does the 1st mount to the second seeing that they both have male bolt patterns. Wouldn't the first need to connect into the second for that to be true.

What monitor do you have? Is it quite bulky or slim and lightweight? I'm interested in connecting one to my 5D on the hotshoe.

The second have both male and female 1/4" connectors as described in the text there.
