How to make your footage at its best?

Hey DVX user, I recently purchased a canon 60d and I love it so far but I feel like I am not using it to its full potential.
What are some good tips on how to make your video quality at its best at 720 60p?
Any tips would be awesome!
The 2 lenses I am shooting with at the moment are; 10-20 sigma and 50mm 1.8 canon.
I know I am new to this forum so I probably am reposting or something like that but it would be helpful to get some tips.
Also If I were to purchase a lens what would be my best option a 17-40 or a 24-105.
Thanks guys

Lighting. I felt the same exact way when I first bought my Canon 7d. I thought, here I am spending over $2000 on a camera and a lens, why doesn't my footage look amazing???

Well, now with a year under my belt with it, I am shooting some of my best footage ever. It all, in my opinion, comes down to lighting. Filming indoors you should use a lighting kit. Outdoors... ND fader if possible. Also, I learned the correct codecs and what not to edit/export/transcode in. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.

Dont post videos on Facebook unless its for friends and family !
I like the shot but there's banding on the sky probably because of the Facebook recompression.
Not much you can do more in-camera.
