How to handle a client unfamiliar with GH1 avchd footage?

I was not going for anything with this edit. I just threw some clips together to test out workflow in vegas 9 and see how bad the worst clips would be... I have dug through and found that I did get some much more usable clips that - even if too short, I'll just slomo.

I COULDN'T get where the other guy was standing, I didn't have the proper thingy pass around my neck, so if I stepped past a certain line, nine guards were on me pushing me back. That wasn't my fault. They didn't brief me or give me proper info or anything of the sort on this or I would have known ahead of time, had proper passes, and planned this thing out like a war strategist and been prepared. I would of chosen spots ahead of time and set up some of her walks. As it was - I didn't know anything and there was no time. Those other camera guys that had the premo spots were from networks. I was just this girl's personal camera person, which to them = dirt.

I'll salvage it. Hopefully this thread helps others or amuses others who have had the same sort of thing happen. Again I was a DVX100/ HVX200a guy. I sold them thinking I could do it all and more with the GH1. I also kind of hated P2 cards. BUT.. it's just not the case....at least on the run.... these dslrs need to many fingers and changes in too many places and are too delicate and shaky for random as it happens stuff in changing situations. I'll show you some polished 1080 24p footage later from the same camera that was planned and it's gorgeous.

Hey Blackout, I have had my fair share of fashion work... I feel you man, those things are a crazy free for all.

I was kind of forced into the same situation a while back when I was shooting the C cam with my T1i... Granted I would have definitely rather be behind my HMC, but no one else knew how to shoot a SLR... I ended up shooting the whole event with a 50mm 1.8 prime that I had picked up the day before. I did get a LOT of practice working on focusing skills, hah. I knew the canon kit lens wouldn't hold up in low light, but if I had the GH1 at the time I would have probably found myself in your shoes. Thanks for sharing...
