GH1 How to get rid of Yellow triangle exclamation point on GH1

Well, got my new GH1 yesterday, and was searching the internet for how to get it into "service mode". I was successful in doing that. However, now, when I power off the camera, instead of getting the Luminix logo, I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation point, and a little red SD card looking symbol in the upper right corner.

Now I've searched the internet again, and cannot find a definitive solution for how to get rid of that yellow triangle, or if I even need to.

From what I've gathered, it appears that I have entered my camera into "permanent service mode"....which isn't what I want.
I just wanted to enable "version number", and "rom backup"....which I did.

I am sure I won't be the first one to do this.
So, can someone explain to the newbee's(like me), how to enable the version number, and also, how to get out of permanent service mode???

The instructions for entering "service mode" are all over the place-and confusing at best.

Also, how do you do a "service reset" on the camera, to return it to it's original state when you took it out of the box?? Keep in mind, I have NOT hacked my firmware yet.

What is service mode and why did you try and get to it? You don't have to enter any service mode to hack the camera.

I was trying to hack the camera. I wanted to get into service mode to enable "version" in the menu. It's not on by default, but once you enter service mode, it's shown in the menu under settings.

You don't need to enter service mode. Just make the firmware with the ptool, put it on the root level of an SD card, put it in the camera, turn it on, and hit the playback button. It will say "Version Up?" and choose Yes.

Not to burst your bubble, but "Version Disp." is always shown under "Setup"

Service mode was used to determine that the "newer" gh1's showed 1.3 in the "Version Disp." but 1.34 in service mode.

someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I did not see it in the settings tabs when I first set up the camera.
But, I may have figured out the problem-I have a Kingston Class 4 card....and I think the camera has caught onto that fact, and the yellow exclamation point with the red SD indicator when powering down, is to remind me to put in a faster cards...????
I know that when I set the camera to high-speed burst mode, that is flashes red-which to me means the card isn't fast enough.

I was able to get into service mode, and cycle through the different menu's, and then back out again...and powered off the camera-same thing, yellow exclamation point with red SD indicator.

So, I'm thinking that's it. I knew going in that my measly class 4 wasn't going to cut it. I'm waiting to order some new cards til next week(everybody seems to be out of the ones I want-go figure), and I'm not in a rush. I see no point in hacking the camera til I get the new cards.
And, I know how to do the hack. Believe me-I have read every single page, and every article on here-hence the reason I rarely post anything, especially when it comes to the GH1 and/or the hack. Trust me; the question(s) have been asked and answered numerous times(the search function is your friend)....I really hated to start another "my GH1 is doing this....what do I do?" thread.

But, I have been able to take some video in 720/60P mode(it drops some frames-doesn't look good), and some pictures(they're fine), haven't even tried FHD yet-no point until I get a faster card.

EDIT: another interesting discovery, since I've "entered" temporary service mode; I now have a selection in the setup menu I didn't have before; page 4 "Rom Backup". And, my selections are; DSC>SD, SDALL>DSC(ID CHECK), SDALL>DSC(FORCE), SDUSER>DSC(FORCE), !>LUMIX.
Any idea what I can do here?? If I select the first one, it asks if I want to overwrite, yes/no. So far, I've only just backed out of that menu. I can't find any reference to it online-other than it appears, and nothing in the owners or service manual about what ROM backup does. Anybody got a clue??

No. I just left it in service mode. It doesn't hurt anything, and to get it out of permanent service mode you have to reflash the ROM to another unused version-a step that is irreversible. So, I'm not taking any chances.
