How to get 1080p from my HVX200

Hey all,

I'm not sure if this is the right discussion board to post this on, but I figured it was a good place to start. I have been trying to figure out how I am able to achieve 1080p from my hvx200 for quite some time now and no one can really tell me what to use or what to do. I know it involves shooting the footage at 1080i/24pN, however I don't know what to do from there. I keep hearing that I need to remove pulldown, but no one can tell me how to go about doing that.

I have Final Cut Studio 3, btw.

Thanks for the help!

First make sure you're capture setting is set to DVCPRO 1080

Then open the log and transfer window. At the top of that window click that little star thingy *

Then select preferences.

Then check the box that says "Remove Advanced Pulldown and duplicate frames"

To shoot 1080p 23.98, you choose 1080i24pA...A, not N.

N means NATIVE, and the only NATIVE 23.98 shooting setting is 720p24.

Then, in LOG AND TRANSFER, in the sprocket drop down menu, choose PREFERENCES. IN there make sure REMOVE PULLDOWN is checked. (Attribution Mr. Ross)
