C100: How to fix the play in the top handle?

It feels like there is more and more play in the top handle on my C100 mk1 and it's slowly getting to the point when it looks ridiculous. I tighten the screw as hard as I can but I doesn't seem to help.

Anybody come up with a solution for this?

I have the same problem. Something that might help is taking the handle off the body. On the bottom of the handle is a metal plate with 4 screws. Make sure that all these screws are secured tightly. This helped a bit for me.

Even if the screws in your handle and the receptacle on the C100 body are tight, the C100 handle has slop in the mounting and will alwaye creak and have movement, it's a poor design. You want the Small Hot Shoe Adapter kit. I bought it and it is rock solid. I tried the Wooden Camera hot shoe mount and it still had slop in it, the Small Rig nailed it, great piece of gear for $80.00. Every C100 MKI owner should have this. My C100 MKI fully rigged now is about 13lbs and the handle now feels as solid as the C300 MKII. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0148KEES6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I've tried to tighten all the screws but yes, didn't really help. It seems the cold shoe on the body is just too big for the handle.

I'll lok into the Small Hot Shoe adapter kit, thanks puredrifting!

Run two thin strips of electrical tape down each side of the recess on the bottom of the handle (alongside the 4 screw plate thingy). The tape takes up the slop, but is thin enough it doesn't drag when you put the handle on or take it off. Snug the knob down tight and shoe on the camera will compress against the tape strips thus removing the slop! Works great! It's cheap and takes about 10 minutes to do. May have to add an extra layer depending on how much slop needs to be taken out.
