How to download P2 footage from the 300 to a USB hard drive

I use the LaCie 320Gb Rugged USB with no problems. Although it takes a while to dump to the drive from the camera.

How about a 250GB Lacie rugged drive? Will that work off the HPX300 USB bus? If not, getting a seagate free agent is no big deal. Makes it better so I don't have to bring a laptop on set.

How do you connect the hard drive's USB cable to camera? camera has kind of square type connector, and hard drive - the same!?

The camera has both, a host and a device like USB socket. External hard disks are devices that have to be connected to the smaller type A socket (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus#Connector_types). Please refer to the manual on how to enable the USB host mode and copying clips to an external storage media.
