I am an excited owner of a HPX171E, and I am starting to grasp the in and outs of the P2 workflow. I offload P2 cards on and old laptop with a PCMCIA slot (Pentium M, ¡slow!), and then I edit on FCP on a Macbook Pro.
I was wondering if there is any program (or other means) to generate proxy files on Windows XP (similar to ProxyMill for the Mac), so I can preview the offloaded footage. The computer processor is too slow to use the P2 viewer or P2CMS, they play very choppy.
I would rather not use a full NLE like Edius or Premiere CS4 just for proxy files, but if that's the only option, I might consider it.
