How to create Google-type "Trail View"?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This operation is a donation, so I do need to be cost conscious.

Object: To allow an online viewer to virtually travel along the hiking trails found in the local parks.
Somewhat like Google's "Trail View", the viewer would be able to click on a graphic of the trail, and then be able to "see" the local area.

Customer: Anyone wanting to see in advance what a trail looks like, or simply enjoy the view. People who are unable, for whatever reason, to hike,
would be able to enjoy the scenery.

Equipment: Canon 7D, 16-35 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L IS, 100-400 L IS, 100 macro.
Rode Videomic Pro, Shure VG2, Zoom H4n, Juiced Link
Zacuto Z-Finder PRO 3X

Proposed: Stabilization rig (Merlin 2?) and vest (needed because ideally, I'd be walking the trails)
As a substitute, some type of rails setup (10-15'?)

Examples: http://bikewashington.org/trails/vernon/index.php Click on "Explore this trail in Google Maps".

(I've already asked for Google's help, but there's been no response.

"Now Google Maps is expanding to biking and hiking trails. A Google employee on a tricycle rides around to snap the same wide-area views. "Much of the world is inaccessible to the car," says Daniel Ratner, a Google senior engineer who designed the trike. "We want to get access to places people find important."

"Ratner's trike is a modified three-wheeled bike, like the ones used to take tourists for a spin, with a huge antenna and camera on back. It looks so different from a normal bike that when people see him, they ask, " 'Is that a Google robot?' " Ratner says."

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
