How to composite scenes like this?

Hi

I'd like to ask a question regarding compositing different shots.
at 2:23~2:26, Michael Rooker passes by in front of the camera and of a scene in which a killer is beating on a woman's head with a pole.
How can one put together different shots that are shot handheld.

My guess: Shot is locked off. One of killer, one without. Guy walking in front of camera is green screened and composited in. Add handheld look in post.

Two ways:

Hawk's reply is the easy one. It's amazing how "real" that can make a comped shot.

The other way involves things like motion control camera systems, high-end motion tracking, etc. Where there are teams of dozens of guys just for those shots.

At 2:42 in the video below you'll see a shot with the same guy composited three times; it was shot locked down, and I also shot handheld reference - just a piece of tape on a wall. Tracked that and parented it to the AE camera. Did it with a T2i, which keys.... OK I guess.
