I saw some gear at camerakings.co.uk

Is it safe to buy from them?

Read something bad about cameraking.com but is this the same company?

I wonder what is the UK companies house company registration number, the UK VAT number, the physical address of the store, the name of the MD and other company directors

Personally I only buy from companies that clearly make this information public

The No VAT and No TAX is a worry.... When/if it goes wrong HMRC are going to come after you if the company is outside the UK. BTW HMRC have a LONG memory Then you have the problems of Grey Imports... will the UK based distributors and importers have anything to do with you? Or even the manufactuers UK Office?

.

Warranties etc are going to depend on the manufacturer...

If it's a grey import then you're 99% out of luck.
If it's a direct relationship with the manufacturer then you may be covered... however, depending on what the requirements are for a repair/replacement you may find it just as difficult as having no coverage.

There's a camera store here in Melbourne that will pull out every excuse in the book to try and not deal with your warranty (but they will, of course, still try to sell you their extended package!).
They're a dodgy example and everyone knows it so I'd be concerned about a repeat if the company is, as jag mentioned, a bit phony sounding.

If you're happy buying expensive gear on ebay from abroad, you'll be happy. If the prospect of hard earned cash vanishing, then that's different.

For all my Chinese purchases, I always consider one thing. Can I afford to lose the money. If I can, then I buy, and anything that happens is a bonus - and I have been bitten to the value of £500 in the past - but frankly, the deal was too good and I was too greedy and stupid to think!
