How on earth can I make THIS greenscreen??

Hey guys.
Could someone shed some light here?

I need a 15 ft. wide by 7 foot tall greenscreen (about the size of a living room wall) for a short I am making. Any ideas, suggestions? I thought of buying lots of green cloth at Walmart, but will it look good? Anybody ever came across something like this before?

For really smooth infinity-cyc style screens you can buy cheap linoleum and paint the backside of it. The reverse side is like a closed-cell foam that takes paint (and constant touch-ups) very well.

Also, there are neoprene purpose-built process fabrics that I've done massive greenscreens with (one was 30' x 300'). That should be available in a reflex blue and chroma green, though I can't find the supplier for it at the moment.

Great idea, ill have to try that, going to price a roll of that stuff tomorrow :D

Yes, that's the same guy selling on ebay that I gave the link for earlier. Perhaps a bit cheaper on ebay than on his own site by about $20 for the same screen.

any serious film maker will paint one wall of their living room green precisely for this purpose... :)

What happened is that when we moved here, 5 years ago, it was already painted like this. I mean, who paints a house green? Our landlord. I tried shooting in front of my walls, but the green is not green enough.
 
have you asked your self, if you really need to have that size greenscreen, depending on the nature of the shot, you only really need to greensreen to "isolate" the actor/actors, the rest can be garbage matted.

dont forget eefx.com - their stuff is top notch - not terribly expensive either - i bought a big chunk of their fabric - it really does work fantastically well. if you're looking for a budget solution, paper is also available for chromakeying

Could you explain what "garbage matted" is?
I like this idea.
 
garbage matte is usually a really simple cropping. in premiere pro, for instance, you have 4, 8 and 16 point garbage mattes, in the simplets 4 point version you get 4 corner points that you can move around thereby cropping the video at those points. more points gives you more control for complex shapes
 
The reason the pro stuff is foam backed is to make it more opaque and minimize folds.(although really you should get an aluminum frame and stands and a green screen with laces all around it every foot, so it can be stretched tight on the frame. The reason cloth or plastic doesn't really work well is that if you hang it where light can get behind it you can see the translucency.

So if you hang cloth on a wall, it becomes a pretty good option?
