I'm the same way man... when I first started playing guitar in high school, I didn't even consider myself a guitar player until after I'd been playing for about a year. I don't consider myself a filmmaker, well, mainly because I haven't bought myself a camera... but even when I do, I won't consider myself a filmmaker for a long time...GlimmerGhost said:It's also one of the the reasons why I cant make a demo reel or set up a website or even give people my card... if i'm not happy with it then I scrap it. For anyone that knows bi polars then you'll get that last sentence.
True. I'm 33 and just getting started... I WISH I knew what I wanted to do when I was still a teenager...My message for guys like Ballplaya and PTO and all the rest of you young DVXusers is: feel proud of yourselves. You had the good sense to start now, dont call yourselves unknowledgeable, or dumb or say its unfortunate that your young. All I can say is take me as an example, i'm 26 and I just started my lifelong dream in feb., all because I never had the good sense to just jump in. Don't ever think you don't know enough, even the oldest, wisest Most valuable DVXuser still has stuff to learn, and these things you are learning now from him/her at the age of 14,15 and 16.
Good call.

Just started in November of 2005, WhiteWood is a multimedia Entertainment corporation. I direct films, I draw comics for my city's local newspaper, throw parties, and I have a clothing line under way.
I've been writing screenplays since 2003 and I'm shootin my first full length film in 2007. I'll be moving to LA in 2008 to pursue my film making career and I plan on becoming the YOUNGEST and FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN to win an Academy Award for best director. All of my other goals are on my website. Don't want to say them here...hearing them sounds ludacris without getting to know me first.

It's the fear sometimes, you know? Not like scared kinda fear, but more of the "time is slipping" kind of fear. My advice about the camera is just do it. I found one in the marketplace for real cheap, pm'd the guy and went on a lay-away plan. Every week, even if it was just $50 (even if'ts just $20) knock at that little by little until you have it payed off.tommyinla said:I'm the same way man... when I first started playing guitar in high school, I didn't even consider myself a guitar player until after I'd been playing for about a year.
