C200: How often do you use a regular polarizer (not variable ND)?

Just curious.
I pretty much use only FF lenses on my C200 because of the vignetting I was getting on EF-S lenses so a polarizer doesn't add to vignetting for me.

Most ef-s lenses don't vignette even with a filter attached. The only problems I have had are Canon ef-s zoom lenses with IS. The 18-135 stm and 17-55 f/2.8 would sometimes vignette on the wide end.

Anyway, I often use polarizers on corporate shoots. Reasons are: to reduce reflections in glass from lights, keep the sky blue when it is close to being overexposed, get some color in foliage on a sunny day. I've even thrown a polarizer on a camera for an interview when I didn't have powder available.

There was just a thread on this over at DP Review. I think a polarizer almost always improves outdoor shots, particularly if the sun is in the right spot. I don't think a polarizer ruins skin tones. If you don't go crazy dialing out polarized light, the skin tones should still have some life in them. A polarizer could look a little weird in panning shots, but I think it's a worthwhile compromise, especially on cameras that don't have 15 stops of dynamic range.

on that note, i'm in the market for a 4x4 polarizer. i'm used to work with a tiffen one but didnt like it's qualities, barely any reduction in reflections no matter how i turned it (compared to a simple screw on pol)
