You can definitely do it with Edius. I know you can do it with Fcp. Don't know how though, or if it requires any particular method.
Vegas and Premiere, I could be wrong but I am thinking the only way you are going to be able to hae a chance at capturing live their is with dvrack. It records as avi. so those would potentially be able to be live captured with Vegas or Premiere. Don't quote me though

Barry I got your book a few weeks ago, I like it a lot, a lot of info. I saw one of your posts about choosing between a laptop, imac and a macpro and you mentioned that the macbook could burn your firewire port on the hvx200?
I forgot which thread have your comments about it, can you tell me more?.
Actually we should consider whether maybe the HVX has some sort of fuse or something to prevent the port getting blown; I don't know if I've heard reports of HVX ports getting fried. I've heard of HD100, DVX100, and FX1 ports frying, but now that I think about it I don't know if I've heard of an HVX port getting blown out. I wonder if they prevent it somehow?
Konton, whos been absent as of late since hes been busy, has had his Firewire port on his HVX blow out, he had to send it back to panasonic, and said they replaced some fuses inside the HVX, im gunna get more details from him when i can, we spoke very breifly yesterday in a PM message.
