How many d7000 users? Stand up and be counted!!

Haha 6 stops...
I am a D7000 user as well, but man I wish I had 720/60p. Manual aperture in live view would be nice too.

+1

720/60fps is a big feature for me. And I still use AIS, but manual aperture would be nice.

Used to own one, almost wish I didn't get rid of it. Get to use a 7k again on my next project. Get to use it along side a 60D, so should be fun. I really miss nikon colors.

D7000 user checking in :)

I'm primarily a photographer, but I had been wanting to get into video for ages, and was seriously considering a switch to Canon before the D7000 was announced. I had been using a D300, which was great for stills, but I bought the D7000 for video and I'm very pleased with it. Not only is the video quality excellent for what it is, the stills quality is slightly better in resolution, dynamic range AND signal to noise in comparison to the D300... And it has dual card slots! Needless to say, I like it a lot. (Although I still would like a full-frame D700 replacement with 1080p video ;) )

I have two D7000 and a D5100 I use for hikes and Video.

You need to take a poll instead of doing it this way

I own a D7000 and it's a really great camera for its price. Lacks live histogram in live view but other than that it makes great videos. Use it with a couple of Nikkor primes and you'll get incredible shots.

I've used a d7000 and loved it.. does that count? lol.. I have not given into the Canon hype.. I still believe its the man or woman behind the camera that makes the picture not the camera. I shoot Nikon for photography though

Hi all,

Me too. I'm a long time Nikon user, as in since I worked as a photographer for the Army in Vietnam using a Nikon F, and have collected lenses for the Nikon system over the years.

The D7000 uses those lenses as well as new ones, too. The one can change aperture values manually with the old lenses which is often better in video than in newer 'G' lens - rather than turning off 'Live View' turning on 'Info' manipulating the f-stop/shutter/ISO for exposure while watching the meter, then turning on 'Live View' to see how everything looks and then needs to be re-adjusted for exposure.

It's kludgy, but the images are perfect. I agree that a higher bit rate would be awesome, better audio tools would be welcome, better interface with for color/brightness (IRE) would be welcome - I take a still and look at levels, and I'd like to see a workaround a la GH2's multiple file output for long form products that small producers need to do to say 'yes' to keep their doors open.

I've handled mine by adding a GH2 (with a Nikon lens adapter) which does that very well. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

My best,

Mike

I'm here too!

D7000!!!

I have had Nikon cameras and Canon video cameras in the past.

Now I'm glad to put it under one roof and use my awesome lenses on a DSLR that takes a pretty mean video! Also, I thought the price point was excellent.

Still would like some improvements - higher frame rates, active rear view for aperture, >20min capacity and some way to activate the camera remotely (have not been able to get the ML-L3 to do that)!

Newbie here but have been a Nikon owner for years. I upgraded my D80 for a D7000 and couldn't be happier. This model has the best metering I've seen in a Nikon and the video is great. I am now delving into the video side, so much to learn.
