I didn't want to do a simple poll, but rather a discussion. I'm not sure if this has been done before here, so here goes.
Watching slasher films over the years, ala Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the like, there's a common order in which characters are killed off, and I have come to believe they are character-driven. I've paid attention to who's being killed off and in what order. I've boiled it down to a simple list of character personalities/traits in the order in which i believe typically happens.
First to die? Usually the quiet charcter with little backstory and just serves to let us know a bit about the motivation of the killer.
Second? Usually the big & slow type who may have heard about the killer but goes on about his ways until it's too late, and he can't quite run away. This character is usually killed off doing something mundane, like taking a poo, or closing the fridge door.
Third? The character you DIDN'T want to see killed. This is usually the A-type personality that is relatively smart but makes one vital mistake in letting the killer a bit too close. It sucks, because this character was cool, and probably good looking. We thought this one would last.
Last? The survivor. The character that doesn't seem to have all the ideas, but you have trusted him throughout the film, and will come through under the most extreme pressure. This character is usually "thrown" into the leadership role in order to ensure the survival rate of whoever is left (especially if a sequel is planned).
So, which one are YOU?
1: The Quiet One.
2: Big & Slow.
3: The A-Type.
4: The Survivor.
Be honest. about this fictional topic.

EDIT: it's also fun to think of your friends and coworkers with this subject in mind.
2ND EDIT: feel free to add to the list. From my list, I am "the survivor". i'm not always the first to make choices, but when given ultimatums, i take charge like Large Marge.
