First of all did Panasonic ship those Facebook GH1?

I know the latest batch are not hacked - yet...fingers crossed, but how do you like them? How are you using them? B-cam, web episodes or even as first camera? I've read the fpn problem is fixed. Is this completely fixed or reduced only? I'm tempted to order one because of the price.

I'm very happy with mine. Can see the difference compared to my gh2 but it still does a great job. Gonna use it for b-cam and runaround stuff...

I have been very happy with it until some footage of a waterfall that came out full of mud. The imagery of the water is fine, the rock surface is what broke up. But I don't plan on it for nature use that much. I had a pair of GH2s on order when the deal first appeared. First I ordered 3, then another and finally one more. The GH2s arrived a week later, put them on Ebay and they brought more than the cost of the 5. I primarily shoot multicam, 3 or 4 most often. Also most of my delivery is web based. The audience I have doesn't recognize or care about 24P. The competition I have might, if they're lucky, be at the GH1 level. So to sum it up, I have absolutely no regrets going with the close out GH1s.

It´s a beautiful little camera for $375. I love the size, handing, menus, evf . So far I´m just shooting 720 because I had to wait for my 16g card which came last week and used a borrowed 2g regular sd, which by the way worked great. I also had to wait a month to get the camera since I´m not in the states. But it was definitely the best camera deal of the decade. For a carryaround, the gh´s are the camera to beat. thanx pany - for sure ,when they announce the gh3, I´m going to be trying to get a similar deal on the gh2 !

I love this camera. No regrets at all considering the price. Where else can you get a full HD video camera for $375.00? It is one heck of a stills camera as well which was one of my reasons for buying it. I really wanted a professional stills camera and figured it would be great to have a second camera that could match my HMC-40. The 720p and even the 24p mode once I remove the pulldown match really well with my HMC-40. I wish there were more framerate options but I can live with it. If you want to shoot any form of high framerate video then these GH1's are awesome. It is my understanding other DSLR's suffer at 60i and 60p.

Is it the best DSLR you can buy? Nope but for the price it sure is. This thing is basically at point and shoot prices. I would have gladly paid this much just for the body. The lens it comes with isn't super great but it isn't bad either. In decent lighting it will get the job done no problem. I also bought an old FD lens for $30.00 and an adapter for another $30.00. The FD lens beats the crap out of the kit lens in low light but it is a bear to use since it is 100% manual. Not exactly nice for run and gun shooting. I really prefer using M4/3 lenses and am just waiting until I can get some faster ones. The kit lens is a great lens however to get used to shooting with a DSLR. It is very wide, wider then most video cameras and has enough reach for framing shots.

Tell me what FPN means and I can tell you if my camera has it or not. I've heard this acronym used around a lot but no idea what it means.
But generally speaking I like a camera a lot. I had a hard time accepting it at first because I replaced a D7000 with it. But after using it for a month I can honestly say it's a sweet little camera and blows away the 60D (another camera I tried) in terms of video usability and even image performance. I had planned to buy a second one I don't know if the deal is still going of not. I won't have a spare cash for a couple weeks anyway.

A lot of people complain about the codec but personally I don't see what the big deal is. Sure it breaks up when there is a lot of detail in a scene. I guess I just don't shoot scenes that are all that detailed. In fact I kind of dig the 17mbps because it means I can fit over 2 hours on a 16gig card. The 60D gave me less than half that and I didn't think the image quality was any better. In fact I thought it was grainer looking than the unhacked gh1.

The only thing disappointing is the color. I just wish the colors were richer out of camera. Even if I shoot vivid the colors just don't seem to have the pop I'd like them to have..

Very nice picture, maybe a bit noisier than I expected but I need to put some hours on it.
Photo quality very good, ETC great. Hey, nice cam+long wait

you´ll definitely see it shooting manual at iso 1600 - low light on the gh1 isn´t really very good imho but it beats my z1 in low light - however it´s still the best camera for 375 on the planet

I agree it's by far the best hybrid still/video camera with kit zoom at $375 and is a great low cost backup for the GH2.
