How do you label your SDHC cards?

I haven't needed to label mine so far.. I just use whichever card if it's empty. What benefit does labeling have?

I'm with DNathan, sharpie!!!... 1,2,3,4 (plus your info and a promise of reward if found, you never know) and i split the video shoot. I was told when i was little to never put all my eggs in one basket =)

Sharpie A,B,C,D...

I'd warn people NOT to use sticky labels that may stick to things inside the SD slot, make the card hard to insert or remove, etc.

However, I also carry these little post-it "flags" (about 2" long and 3/4" wide) which I mark with pertinent details and either wrap around the card, or stick to the card with some "flag" hanging out of the case, once the card is used (depending on what card case I'm using).

Also I think the cards are dangerously small and easy to lose. So I keep them in a dv tape case labelled for each project - much easier to locate in the gadget bag.

I actually have two cases (like http://www.amazon.com/Vanguard-Di-H..._2?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1242583205&sr=8-2 or http://www.amazon.com/HAKUBA-USA-DM...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242583284&sr=8-1) in each camera bag, one marked "USED" and one marked "AVAILABLE". After a card is taken from the AVAILABLE case and used, it's put in the USED case, write-protected and marked with a post-it flag. Whatever anyone thinks may have happened, it's forbidden to erase a card from the USED case in the field!
