How do u import files into Intel iMac?

Is there a reader that can be used to read the P2 cards and transfer the data into an iMac for use with FCP?

Can the HVX itself be used as a transfer device if hooked up via Firewire?
 
I'm not sure if this is answering your question, but....If you are running FCP 5.1.2 and the camera is hooked up via FW, just go to File>Import>Panasonic P2.

FCP has a nice interface for importing clips from P2 cards. Should work on an iMac just as well as MacBookPro/etc.
