Your aspect ratio for your final piece should be determined by your artistic intent. HD will always record 16x9 but you can present your film/doc/etc matted however you choose. Your delivery format will most likely be 16:9, however.
The HVX records 24p in a 1080/60i stream. This is why that option appears in your menu. Your editing program will need to remove the pulldown to get the true progressive 24 frames.
So FCS will de-interlace the 1080i/24p? Or do I have to set it to 1080i/24pA?
I see that in 480i mode the hvx can be switched from normal, to letter box and squeeze. I just want to know the point and shoot setting. I imagine you have to do something in FCS to get the academy ratio right in post.
I did some shooting in 1080i and after log and transfer in FCS it was all crappy looking.
