How do I expose with CineStlye on my T2i?

Hello,

I was wondering how to get the proper exposure when using the technicolor CineStlye picture profile on my Canon T2i. Should I expose as high as possible without clipping the whites or should I underexpose?

the shane hurlbut workflow is as follows:

prepare the camera:
* store "neutral with minimum sharpness, contrast=-2, saturation = -2" as personal picture style 1
* store "technicolor cinestyle with minimum sharpness, contrast=-4, saturation=-2" as personal picture style 2

when shooting:
* set personal picture style 1 (neutral -2)
* set your lighting and your exposure
* set personal picture style 2 (technicolor -4)
* shoot

just to clarify a bit for the OP... what Norman means is, after setting exposure on the neutral setting you then flip over to Cinestyle and start shooting.

It's the easy way to do it yes and possibly the best too since we're working on an extending profile, rather than actual HDR thus "setting the aim" is a sober approach and your sketch profile basicly works as your LUT. Or you use a light meter and expose for skin tones.

That sounds like quite an annoyance.

yup. I dont do that. I just expose how i normally do which is underexpose about a stop in bright sun. I haven't done it indoors as yet. Seems to be fine. I have my EVF coming soon so i'll have zebras which will be a welcome addition.

Why not take note of the difference in exposure between neutral and Cinestyle (or an average, if it varies) and then simply expose only in Cinestyle accordingly?
