Barry, how can I see current number of a written down scene (during shooting). This question is connected with limitation of a maximum quantity of scenes for this camera (900 files in one card). According to the manual, if the number of scenes was above 900, the camera would be unexpectedly stop, even will be a free space on the flash cards. What is the reason of the LIMITATION 900 FILES? Is it possible to make correction in Firmfare??

To clean a limit, or at least to show number of a current scene on the screen during the shooting.

There is no way to see the file number on the screen during shooting. And the limit, as far as I understand, is part of the AVCHD specification, so there would be no prospect of changing it through firmware or it would become non-compliant with AVCHD. AVCHD is a compatible file format and directory structure as Blu-Ray, and it's been built into millions of PS3's, LCD TVs, camcorders and other devices, so they wouldn't do anything to break its compatibility.

Still, 900 clips per card is a lot, don't you think? If you really need lots and lots of clips, about all I can suggest is to use smaller cards, which would fill up before you hit the 900-clip limit. Instead of using one 32GB card, use two 16GB cards. But in three years of shooting AVCHD I doubt I've ever approached more than 100 clips per card, much less 900 per card, so it seems like it's a wildly generous limit as-is. Do you have some specific shooting scenario where you expect to generate over 900 clips per card?

Barry, thanks! I completely understand about "problem 900". And what about to display number of a current scene on the screen to exclude unexpectedly stop. Is it possible to correct firmware? May you pass my request to Japanese engineer?

Usually I have at 3-4 hours the finished shooting material and about 1000-1400 scenes. (one wedding day)
Because I like to start to do initial video-editing already at shooting process. (I divide episodes into separate scenes by STOP/REC button for simplification post-production). So it it will be big problem if I use 64GB card.

I'd like to use exactly 2x64GB cards and "simultaneous mode" to NOT REMOVE the cards from slots during one day.!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I have already had similar problem at using special HDDs for videocamera (for example Focus FS-4) because they have "Limitation 1000 scenes"
