I want to attach a variety of things with a shoe mount to an HMC-150: an external monitor, a receiver for a wireless lav, and a on camera-light. What options exist for buying something that gives me the ability to attach multiple items?
I have the J-Cube, and have a couple of mic receivers attached to it. I think they're also sponsors of DVXUser (I see their banner ad running from time to time).
You'll notice right in the center of the top handle is a threaded hole. It's a 1/4-20 thread which is a standard (along with 3/8-16) photo-gear bolt size.
High-end Sony cameras used to ship with a cold shoe that screwed into such a hole; there are likely other pieces that do the same, giving you 2 mount points.
I believe there are under-slung mount options for things like batteries and lav receivers - they bold to the tripod mounting hole, and then you mount your tripod plate to them- so you raise the camera an inch or so. Never have needed one.
Beyond that, you may need to look into a rail system... which can be handy since you can add shoulder mount pieces and so on.
great little accessory, turns your single shoe mount intro 5 mounts. You can mount your light on top, have room for a couple of wireless receivers and maybe use an arm to connect the monitor.
Like another poster said, i think your camera has another threaded hole which you can use, maybe to connect the external monitor and distribute the weight in two places instead of just one.
