We need more information to help you here.

1. What problems are you experiencing?
2. What's the configuration of your capture computer? (Proc speed, memory, additional hardware, etc.)

I think that you will find, after you work out your issues, that the XH A1 is capable of delivering some really good images. Some will say even broadcast quality.

First, make sure that you are using the correct capture settings in Vegas. Can't help you with specifics as I don't use Vegas. With the XH A1, select a capture preset that uses HDV 1080 and either 50i or 60i depending upon your video standard.

If you get your video captured correctly, it should play from your timeline without problems. If you still have problems, someone else will have to help since I don't know Vegas.

Once your issues are solved, the best way of outputting your video is a separate discussion. It depends quite a lot on where your video is going, for example DVD, Web, back to tape, etc. You might want to start a thread in the Vegas section to help you with this.
