How are you attaching Loupe to 550d/T2i LCD?

Hi
I am about to buy a Hoodman Loupe/Sock Loupe for my 550d. I can't see how the elastics to hold the loupe in place will stay on the body of the camera successfully.

Any advice would be great.

I put a little ball head that mounts in the hot shoe and wrap the rubber bands around taht which seems to give it enough contact points to stay in place . Then I put little strips of velcro on the right side and on top of the screen (not on the hoodman) just to keep it in place. It works but is wanky for sure.
I'd like to see exactly where snp puts his velcro. Hoodman is coming out with a better system attaching to the viewfinder but when?

In my opinion the rubber bands for the Hoodloupe look tacky. I made a bracket that screws into the hoodloupe and connects to the bottom of my T2i.
I typically put it ( the bracket) in between my quick release plateand the camera. All you have to do is drill 3 holes.
You can see the quick release on the bottom of the camera. It isn't necessary, you can just hold the bracket on with a 1/4-20 screw. Just make sure to drill the hole in the plate larger than 1/4-20 so you are able to slide the hoodloupe around for adjustment. My solution costs about .50 cents.

I like the look of this. Does this fit a 550d?
I had the hoodloupe and redrock loupe accessory on my T2i. It held it, but not perfectly. Seemed it was meant for a more centered LCD like the 7D or 5D. Had the loupe accessory slightly craned over to fit the hoodloupe to the screen.

Ended up returning the hoodloupe, selling the RR loupe accesory that came with my eyespy deluxe rig, and buying the LCDVF. No looking back. Much better attachment and overall system.

The only thing I don't like about the bracket solutions is that you have to unscrew your quick-release to take off the loupe, which I like to do when I'm dinking around with menus for any extended time.

Just a heads up for T2i users, that the LCDVF doesn't seem to cover the entire image area of the wider LCD.

yeah, maybe a couple pixels, I think the frame mostly covers the glass surrounding the lcd. Also, with the 3:2 aspect ratio of the lcd, the frame includes the canon logo. On the taller lcd of the 5D and 7D it includes that bar of info on the top.

This is also true of the Hoodloupe, (the logo vs bar inclusion, not the pixel thing.)

Jerkstore,
Can you explain in more detail how you connected the hoodman to your plate ( maybe more pics) That looks like a promising solution.
Does it press up against the Canon well enough to not leak light outdors
