FS7: How about this sony 18-110 lens

I would amend that to "Sony finally came out with a proper kit lens for the fs7, albeit a slow one.".

I think this is not realistic, ultimately the front element catches photons that are then spread over the sensor area. This lens catches as many photons as most 'kit' lenses (aka has a front element as large as most kit lenses)

If one had a sensor 1/4 the area (say 2/3) one would get two more stops of iris due to the 'speed booster' effect aka it catches as much light as a T2 ENG lens.

I recently purchased this lens to replace my 28-135 and I love it, for doco shoots and eng style shooting it is money very well spent. I love the range and constant aperture but for me the thing I am really enjoying is manual zoom, being able to snap zoom into shots again when I am framing up really is quite liberating after putting up with the constant servo of the 28-135. I feel like I am back using an eng camera again but with the benefits of a 35 sensor and 4k. Now if anyone is interested in purchasing a 28-135 I have one for sale!
