How about Cinestyle + Mojito?

Hi guys,

I did 9 video tests in the past days and wanted to share them with you. Some month ago I've got Magic Bullet Mojo and have to agree with director Stu Maschwitz that Mojito is also my favorite preset. It just gives you a little bit of Mojo and that's it.

Yes, I am sure there is a lot more you can do to your footage, and my videos might not be the best, but just want to share how my footage came out with Technicolor's CineStyle profile plus the Mojito preset and also with the LUT S-curve. That is all I did to them.

Judge and compare for yourself.

I did 2 indoor shots and 1 outdoors. I liked the outdoors take with Mojito the most. They come out a little bit greenish, but that is the nature of Mojo. Outdoors, looks a bit better IMHO. Maybe because of the Sunny WB compared with Tungsten indoors.

On a casual viewing, I think the technicolor LUT looks better on the outdoor/ moto shots. YMMV.

free advice worth less than my two cents:

In the future, when you do tests, try to throw some more varied objects into the frame, such as stuffed animals with long hair, things that create highlights, patterns that tend to moire, etc. as well as a color chart and or grey scale. Of course a human face is always good, too if you have one in a jar, all handy like... lol. Relative sharpness is often difficult to judge with a bunch of metal and plastic objects in the frame and nothing organic like a feather or a flower.

Also, trademarked and easily recognizable objects like a Coka=Cola can or such can help - things many people are already familiar with and may even have laying around themselves... it never hurts. Racking focus is fine too, but HOLD for a few seconds on one plane of focus so the eye can absorb the image.
