Ciao Houstonians!

A while back we all talked about collaborating on a project for the Beyond The Still competition that didn't happen.

I have a small personal project that I wanted to see come to life. I wrote a short story about 10 years ago that I am now in the process of converting it to a screen play. It's a bit of a dark piece that toys with the concept of "fate". I originally wrote it in Vietnamese and translated to English so that everyone can understand the story.

Maybe some of you want to lend your time and expertise to make this project come to life? Should be an interesting "international" piece to add to your portfolio.

Let me know if any one would be interested. I'm currently going thru auditions for it. Only two characters. 80% of the scene will be shot inside of a car.

What are you looking for right now? Help with the auditions? Camera crew, writing help, etc...?

I write, have my own gear and have done some light directing/dp work etc...

Im in the middle of editing my last project so my time is limited but if im available i wouldnt mind helping out.

What side of town are you going to be working on?

jon!

The auditioning and story is pretty much complete. I am looking for some creative input and of course extra gear is always good.
For instance, this being shot almost entirely in a moving car... I've never done something like that before... would love to hear the best way. Then there's lighting, etc...

I'm from Pearland.. southeast of Houston.
Our studio is on 290 and 34th.

Cool, im in SE houston just down from pearland (45s and BW8). i might have some troubles making it to 290 to often, but who knows. (darn day job)

From what i understand best way to shoot car stuff is with one of those rigs that suction to the doors/hood etc...

What are you shooting with? Whats your run time going to be estimated at?

I actually have a home out that way.. beltway and Blackhawk behind that HEB. We only go to the studio for meetings/and or studio shots.. otherwise we're usually on location somewhere. We also have day jobs... so shooting usually happens after 5 or on weekends.

We shoot with a Canon 7D, and a few JVC traditional 1080 camcorders. Since it'll be a night scene in a cramp vehicle, I'm thinking it will probably be shot with the 7D only.

I'm from down in Sugar Land and time permitting, wouldn't mind helping out as a b or C camera. I don't have much time to invest on a creative level other than whatever we do while shooting. I have a 7D and access to a wide variety of lenses. let me know what you need and what timeframe you are looking at.

I will be out of town until the 1st week in AUG, but Ill keep my Eye open on this thread and If I can Help I will. I have Dolly, Jib crane, and Proffesional Car mount system. 2 7d's and lots of Lenses, lights green screen the works. no Steadycam but A Great Shoulder RIG

Awesome! I'm sending you guys a PM with my contact and requesting yours so that I can contact you guys once we get started. Good opportunity to build up our network locally.

Thanx!!
