VaricamLT: Horizontal line on Varicam LT

I've been very busy the last couple of days but I'll hopefully have time later next week to shoot with the camera and see if the line is visible then.

I've just done a run through of shots Ive taken with the LT. I can't see it anywhere.

Can I suggest you go to the place where you purchased and hit them up.

Ignore my bars, these two from a couple of days ago:

I was looking at the difference between the LT codec and .dng files and noticed for the fist time the horizontal line that Alex Roz is talking about. I only applied a LUT on the image and it becomes visible as I move a small light over the plant (in the clip). This is shot in 240 fps. The first cut is from a dng file, the rest is from the internal codec and the last two with increased contrast.

I tried doing the same in 4K and the line is there, but it's not as obvious.
It's a minor issue since I haven't noticed it before but I would of course prefer if it wasn't there.

Well it seems you will have to live with it Milan. I talked to several guys at Panasonic. They explained me first that they were aware of it, it's how the system works but it should not appear unless you're adding more contrast than usual. And they choose the best sensors to avoid that. Unfortunately i had a few images showing the line without extra contrast. Panasonic was great asking me to send the camera to check it in Japan and change the sensor if it needed to. I got my camera back from Panasonic UK with only a circuit change (i don't really understand why as it was pretty clear from the first conversations that not good enough selected sensors were responsible). Anyway, when pushing the footage in the same conditions than before I still see the line. Fortunately it's super rare. And it doesn't seem to be worse than what you noticed. I cross my fingers to not get that line on important footage. As I told before i saw it on several files found online that I pushed in post and you're confirming that you experienced it too. It seems it wasn't a problem for you or anyone else until now. I will personally try not to think about it anymore ^^

I've been looking through some recently shot footage now but can't find the line anywhere. I used the same LUT and increased the contrast, but nothing. Weird.

I checked all my footages too, pushing the contrast, zooming etc. It's nowhere apart from 4 or 5 clips. It's difficult to understand why it appeared in these specific conditions.
