Just received an email from the Director of Marketing:

"Hoodman Corporation has cancelled its P2 card project"

Sad, but I didn't have high hopes since I first heard.

Wonder what the straw was that broke the camels back?

EDIT: oh yeah, nice mention. I forgot about fuji

There was another thread about this a lil while ago.
In the end, no one was really surprised. It would've been nice to have another company making cards, but a lot of us where doubtful.
Isn't Fuji doing the cards with or for Panasonic?

Fuji is a second supplier. They don't make the cards for Panasonic, Panasonic makes their own cards. Fuji will also be making cards; last I heard they were targeting a release in 1Q 2008 so that could mean any time in the next 8 weeks.

I hope they make it in the 1st Q, that would be great! Anybody think it will affect prices much?

Too bad for Hoodman, but Im not surprised

Hi Barry

Thanks for that news.

I"m hoping that they'll be cheaper and larger, otherwise what's the point of giving them the business. Would be sweet to get a 32 gig card for a 999 and the 16gig for 599 or less.

I'll bet that by the time the 64 GB cards are fully in supply the 32s will drop to ~$900. Then it'll repeat itself once more with the 128s, which will presumably be the limit.
