Homemade anti-moire filter?

How difficult would it be to recreate (roughly) a filter similar to the caprock using common parts? I don't own one so I can only judge from the images online. Seems like theres some sort of porous membrane between 2 glass filters. Is the membrane semi-transparent or opaque?

You could always just hold a cheese grater in front of the lens.

Thanks, that looks easy enough although I think I'll use something a bit more robust and less cumbersome than a cheese grater.
