home made 35mm with A1

Dude, I don't mean to rain on your parade. I'm a REALLY big endorser of ANY DIY. But you can see A LOT of grain and some nasty barrel distortion. But I think that once you fix these 2 issue you'll have nice adapter there. How much light do you lose?

yups, your not raining on my parade - i expected it.

I want the grain - basically I love the screen. super 8ish.
in the vid, there was a moment when i turn on and off the vibrating motor to show the difference in grain when moving and not moving.

I used nikon d, beattie, canon eos, and i like this new screen better. It gives it such a nasty grainy feel.

just perference... on lots of light lost but no hotspots

I watched this earlier on my HD TV and thought it totally nailed a 8/super8 look. One thing for sure, it did NOT look like video :)

I don't know if I'd shoot a project with it... but I actually liked it.

thanks phil,

that high contrasty- bleach bypass look is what we are looking towards this experimental short we have. we also have the nikon and canon eos if grain get to much in the way

thanks

In that case, congratulations :D I really wish I wasn't such a disaster building stuff by my self. My shot at a 35mm adapter would propably involve nailing one of my nikons to the A1 with a nail gun ;-)

Guys -

If you're afraid of tools, please remember gaffer's tape can truly do wonders. You can even stick DIY 35mm adapter together with that. If you need extra motivation, think about builders of the Great Pyramid :)
