HMC151 vs HVX201 vs HPX171 ???

I'm a DVX100B user and I Want an upgrade. But what to buy? Go for the HVX201, the HPX171 or the new HMC151?

1. Do all 3 have the same kind of "scene files" as the DVX? What are the differences?
2. All three have the same progressive modes?
3. I'll be using it mainly for short narratives, using: 1 ext mic / boom, mattebox and stabilizer / tripod. The lower priced and light HMC151 sounds interesting, but is it the right upgrade for me?
4. Is that editing issue solved yet, regarding the HMC151 AVCCAM footage and FCP?

AVCHD works thru a transcode process in FCP, so far it works good with me... the New FCP7 adds a few more transcoding options.

I only used the HMC150 and not the other 2, but i wouldn't regret going to AVCHD all over again!

1) They don't use the exact same scene files, but they are very similar.

2) What do you mean by "progressive modes"? The HMC will do 24fps and 30fps in 1080p and 720p, and 60fps in 720p. DVCProHD allows you to use variable framerates... from I believe 12fps to 60fps (with defaults at 24fps and 30fps).

3) No one has the ability to tell you if it's the right upgrade for you other than you. You need to research the features each camera offers (which means going to Panasonic's website and getting the specs for each) and comparing and asking yourself if you really need this feature or that.

4) As Superfresa66 pointed out... it depends on what you call "solved". It won't edit it natively, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing given the alternative it provides you (ProRes422).

I doubt you would be disappointed in the HMC150(151), and unless you absolutely need the ability to record DV to DV tape, I would just forgo the HVX201a altogether... the HPX171 offers a few more bells and whistles in light of no tape mechanism. Also, the HPX and HMC are effectively the same camera... same CCD block, same lens, most of the same features (the HPX offers stuff that DVCProHD can do but AVCHD can't, plus has Firewire and HD-SDI out). But only you can decide what is best for you.

Actually the HMC151 does 24, 25 and 30p in 1080 and 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60p in 720. Plus 50/60i in 1080 of course.

Yes I posted double. I was aiming for both the HMC151 and the HVX200 users. I'm a DVX user myself and I never checked the other camera system threads before, until now. Anyway, thanks for replying! I'll go for the HMC151...
