Saw this in another post.

If this is correct, and I cannot locate information on it generally, then I am dismayed again about why Panasonic does this so soon after a cam starts shipping.

If it is true, then it follows the same path that the company initiated with the release of the HVX200 and the bundled p2 card about six or so months in.

Why not extend this to all of those who plunged in and bought the cam and reported here and elsewhere to generate sales?

Not whining, just wondering

I'm guessing we'll find more about it in a few days, but this rebate form would work if I bought from someone else, correct?

As early adopters of any new cam- its up to us to provide the input/clips that encourages new sales (forums, vimeo), beta any issues (lens wobble, AVC workflow), and to miss out on the promotions and price cuts- tis our miserable existence

probably not- these promos are to encourage purchases from authorized U.S. dealers and require an invoice from such dealer

But there's a line where you have to put the dealer you bought it from. I just ordered mine today from spec-comm. So hopefully I can either use this one or Spec-comm can get me one of theirs.

I thought you meant "somebody else" like your neighbor- you're probably fine then if the form doesn't have a particular merchant req

I ordered mine on the 16th, but its not scheduled to arrive till tommorrow. I take it they will go by the invoice date, not the "take possession" date.

Oh well, narrow miss.....

I called the number on the rebate form just to ask if they would honor the rebate even though my purchase date on the invoice was the 14th (although it hasn't arrived yet). They said that the only way that they could process the rebate was if I cancelled my order with B & H and reordered within the time frame, something about how the rebate is entered and processed. Worth a try anyway. I'm not going to cancel the order and ship the unit back and I certainly don't blame Panasonic.

Timing is everything......

I just bought mine two weeks ago from B&H, hmmm. I haven't registered it yet so I'm OK there. I'm going to call B&H tomorrow and ask them if they submit something when they sell a camera. If not there is another lovely program in CS3 which could help with that invoice date, but I wouldn't think of it :)

i've done rebates with panasonic and b&h before. all b&h does is provide a form and a receipt of your purchase. It's up to you to submit the rebate form with UPC off box and copy of the receipt. If you can sweet talk panasonic you'll get the rebate. I've never tried to sweet talk the camera dept., but when you talk to them about their phones they are un-sympathetic so good luck.

CS3 might be your best friend.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but has anyone who bought an HMC150 and sent away for the VWVBG6PPK Battery & 8 GB SDHC card rebate offer actually received their items yet? I purchased the HMC150 in February and sent away for the rebate offer in the middle of March, but have yet to receive anything. Granted, the rebate form states that the items are delivered in 4-6 weeks and it's been (slightly) less than 6 weeks, so I could get my package any day now; however, I was just curious to see if anyone else has had better luck and received quicker service.

Of course, I haven't actually tried to contact Panasonic directly yet regarding this matter, but I plan on doing so in the morning (if I can find the proper contact info on their site). I just hope they haven't outsourced their rebate fulfillment to some crazy old one-armed Gabby Hayes-type in a dirty shotgun shack with a ramshackle mule-drawn cart piled high with batteries and SDHC cards.

Oh, and this is my first post on this forum, so, uh... hi.

I despise rebates.

There's a new rebate where I could get a 16GB Panny SDHC card, but I just don't care. Too many hoops for too little reward.

Many buyers have received their rebates already. I'm still waiting on mine, but I just sent it in early-April. You should be aware that if you bought the camera from a unauthorized Panasonic dealer, they may reject your rebate request. I found that out the hard way a couple of years ago with the 100B.

I actually bought my camera through B&H, so I don't think I'll have any problems in that regard. I just hope my rebate form didn't get lost in the mail or anything.
