Nah, you gota click the text, not the logo thing.. Cool little video. So the 150 is lighter then my 100b hu? Man, I am so tempted to sell my 100b, with 40 hours on the heads (just got them replaced) and my GL2 and get two of these guys.

What do you guys think? Worth keeping the 100B?

After re-watching this video for the third time (yes I'm getting a little anxious) I wanted to say that Steve is JUST as enthusiastic and helpful off-camera as what we saw in that video. When I first introduced myself as a buyer of an HMC150, Steve was all excited: "Oh!! You got one?!?!?" :) He is still SUPER excited about the HMC150, and he has happy to answer all my questions plus a few I collected from around here.
 
Hey Shrig, Did you get your yet. I got a solid quote from Ryan Davis. DO you think I should sell my 100B and Gl2. How will this thing cut with the 100B? I will be delivering in SD still for a while?

Thursday it is scheduled for delivery. I've always had other cameras than the DVX but I think Barry Green says they will cut together well except the HMC150 is MUUCH sharper. Sell your GL1? Definitely. The DVX100B.... I dunno, those are still pretty nice!

I will be delivering in SD for now too. I plan to shoot in 720p most of the time and I have yet to assess the best SD workflow. Since the HMC150 is HD-only downconverting looks to be necessary... Maybe there is a way to get SD using Log & Transfer... that would be cool!
 
The Australian PAL version is around $1,300 more than the USA version and it doesn't even do 24P!! What's up with that? Surely the difference in design can't be that much more expensive! At that price it's reaching the league of the Sony Z7!!

I'd buy the US version but the problem is that if I shoot indoors under anything that isn't incandescent or halogen type lighting I'll get really bad flicker due to our mains voltage cycle being 50Hz not 60Hz :(

Oh by the way shrigg CONGRATULATIONS!!! And thanks for your pictures :)

now let's wait...............

that's great darren, glad that you recieved the camera........we're all waiting for news. I also want to be able to take photos of the camera.......

I went with Transcend Class 6 16 Gb cards. The Z7U users I talked to found Transend to be the top CF cards for reliability, I figured based on that Transcend would be a good choice.
 
I was going to post footage from Tuesday's Expo, but my website freaked out when tried to upload... something about uploading 1.3 Gig when the limit is 100Mb :eek: I was going to leave the footage in it's native format so folks could get a realistic view of it. However, that's now not going to happen, as I don't know what directories need to be kept and which one can be deleted, or how to pull out one or two when there are 16 total clips. We'll just have to wait 'till Darren shoots on his new toy later today. :D

Which brings up a suggestion Darren... I don't know what your webhosting situation is, but if you're going to upload footage, it might be easier on you to either shoot *really* short clips, or offload the cards frequently (like after every clip or every couple of clips) in order to keep it small while preserving the directory structure for upload.

Great tip Mike. I'll shoot 10 second clips in all frame rates then pull the card and upload the zipped PRIVATE folder in its entirety. That should keep the necessary directories intact and file size resaonable for hosting/uploading etc.

The longest clip I shot was 2:08 and it was about 340 Mb, the 15 second ones seemed to be in the 35Mb ballpark, if that helps.
 
Wow, bizarre. You got a 150 before anyone else has even seen a 170, and the 150's "official launch date" isn't for another week. Weird!
