Follow Bernie Mitchell as he traverses the countryside talking and demoing the HMC150. Take a great camera, and too many cities to hit with airlines, hotels and food on the road, and something is sure to happen. Bernie is a consultant that works for Panasonic, an evangelist if you will, but he is more than that, he actually uses the camera as well, has been in the production industry his entire life. Good guy to get to know and if he is coming to a town near you, take the time to check him out.

Jan, I have been reading this blog by Bernie, and I'm very excited to own an HMC150. However, as you might have seen in many posts to this site, the supply of these units is really tight.

Will you shed some light on the availability of HMC150s and why most dealers are out or in very tight supply? When will production ramp to demand?
 
As with any product, it is always hard to anticipate and order how many one will sell 5 months out. We just shipped some to the dealers so the supply will be in the channel by the end of the week. Point is that the camera is selling very well.

Hey Jan:

Bernie told me in connection with a tutorial I wrote on ingesting HMC150 footage into FCP for NAB2009 that there is a DVD circulating of footage from the cam.

He promised to send me a copy; never did.

Where can we get one?

And how was the footage encoded to DVD? Was it using high end hardware or some other software encoder, PC or Mac. -- If you know.
 
I would say sign into Bernie's blog and ask him. I really am not the product manager for this camera but I think that Bernie is the keeper of the DVDs and he hands them out at events.
