HMC150-come with card?

Hey all, new here. My HMC150 is due to arrive today on the brown truck, but I completely forgot to order media. I was thinking it would come with a card in the box, however small, and then I'll get the one in the rebate later and shop around for prices. Now I am thinking that the camera will arrive today, and from what I can find out in the on-line manual, etc. is that it might come without any card from the factory.

Can anyone chime in and tell me if it does? If it doesn't, I am going to have to scramble and find some place where I can get one for the weekend. That will be no simple task for me here.

Thanks to anyone who can give me a heads up. I'll have to make the longish shopping run, before the camera actually arrives, and I'd like to avoid it all costs.

The cards are so darn cheap that buying a kit and paying a premium for someone else selecting an overpriced card.. does not make sense. You can get a very very reliable 16 gig SD card for 25 bucks.

my question is.. My next gig is coming up on May 15th weekend.. I would need approx 10-12 hours worth of cards (shooting at PH) for this event..

Should I wait until last minute to buy the cards, do you foresee price drops in the near future? Is there a flash memory price tracker somewhere online?

you can find some great deals at amazon as well. I do also recommend the transcend media. I bought the more expensive Panny media and have had no trouble with those.. but i've never had trouble with the Transcend media as well and it is like 1/3 the price.

you should be able to buy enough media for a few hundred dollars... or you could always buy an SD card reader and be offloading as you shoot.

Any price change between now and that time would be small anyway, +/-.

I would get what i needed now and do some testing.
Some people have had issue with some cards so I'd at least burn an hour on each card just to see what's what.
