HMC150 battery shameful rip-off by Panasonic!

Wow, BG, you have a really mean attitude, I just wanted to point that out as my colleague were shocked by how much I have paid. No other purpose on my sides.

My goal was not to make battery for electronics. The electronic industry manufactures such pouch cells in large quantity (hundred of millions) and assemble them to various sizes, most of them used for other applications, such as Apple MacBook, so their cost is low despite low volume of particular HMC150 battery. My goal is to make large battery pack (500 times bigger), probably asks for $9000 for use in your car. If Panasonic would make this battery from scratch, it is likely to cost $3000 per cell. My company is NOt interested in making this particular even it is sold for $999 because we DO not have a volume for this type of cells and unlikely to make profit even $999.

If I find a better source for similar battery, I will post it here. $189 is simply too much no matter how you look at it. Anyway, buy whatever you want at whatever you are willing to pay!

No more posting on this topic please!

why is this thread not locked?

we purchased a nearly four hour Panasonic battery for our HMC150 for about $135.00.

inkjet ink runs about $250.00 per gallon.

threads like this produce what?

...and you think you can make a $210 battery for $30, what the hell are you doing complaining about it on a web site? Why don't you get into the battery business and start selling those batteries for $40?...

I knew guy that did that. He founded a DVX forum, took a look at the battery situation, decided to made his own to resell for much cheaper, sold them on his forum, now he drives around in his porche and works for Red.

What was his name Larry Jand, Jarold Lan, Jarrod ... something ... ;)

David S. is probably right. Not much good likely to come from this thread. Both sides have made their point anyway.
