Hey guys, new to the board but been reading through it the past couple of months. I'm looking to buy a new camera today and before i started reading here i had no idea which one i wanted. so i narrowed it down to the hmc150 and i hope i'm not making a mistake. i was looking on amazon, b&h and other sites and they basically all had it for the same price give or take a hundred or two. but dviexpress.com, http://www.dviexpress.com/proddetail.php?prod=1CAAGHMC150
has it listed for $2625.45 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the site and if they are legit or not. thanks in advance

purchased on sat the 28th from willoughbys

thanks for the link David, i appreciate you taking your time to search for it. I guess im going to order it from b&h. I have to give them a call and see if they will take a phone order since there is a note on their site saying they wont except online orders untill 7pm. will keep you guys posted on the progress of the order. i hope panasonic doesnt release a sdxc camcorder during the summer cuz i will be pissed.

They don't accept orders at all before 7pm. B&H is a Jew company and doesn't do business during their shabbat.

oh. well i could probably wait until then to order. i read somewhere on here someone saying they liked these guys www.willoughbys.com. and that the order basically came in two days. what do you guys think?

I went with amazon. Signed up for the free trial of amazon prime, and paid 3.99 for 1 day shipping. Unfortunately it shipped a little late on friday and won't be here til monday. I've been trying to stay asleep as much as possible =)

also, the hmc is probably too nice for marduk standards ;)

I looked around and ended up buying a SGBlade for my HMC150 even with all the extras I added on it was still much cheaper than the letus or the redrock.

hey ken, you think you can put up some test footage or if you have already, do you have a link. i'd like to see real life scenario shots of of these adapters because reading pages and pages of specs might help but in the end its the final result. thanks in advance

Hey Ken, what exactly did you buy in your blade package and how much did it cost?

SGblade (with ROTOrazor 1 & 2) Flip Module & Achromat, 15mm Rods Support & Blade Bracket & Tripod Clamp, Nikon F mount, 37-72 Step Up Ring (so I can use it with my B cam) FOLLOWfocus and 5 lens gears.

The total was GBP 1,394.00 I think at the times exchange rate was about 1950-60 USD. But when you add up the extras to me it seems like a better deal.

As far as lenses go
I spent $715 for 4 nikons combined.
Nikon 28mm f2.8, Nikon 50mm f1.4, Nikon 85mm f1.8, Nikon 35-105mm f3.4-4.5

I chose nikon because even though I think canon has better glass now I knew I was going to be buying older lenses and I personally feel the older nikons are better than the older canons. I also feel there is a bigger market of older manual nikon lenses that can be bought very cheaply.
2 I got from B and H, they had some nice used stuff (a 9 rating from them will be a very nice lens).
2 I got from ebay and they turned out to be in great condition too.
If you really shopped around I would think you could knock off another 200 on the price of the lenses.

Marduk - My blade is still being made but I will definitely post up links for you when I get some footage. If you have anything specific you want shot ie lens/lighting/distances just PM me.

-k

I got my camera in today. i would have had it yesterday but i wasn't home to sign for it. and i couldn't wait for them to deliver it so i picked it up today after work. have only had a chance to just open the box. will try to mess with it tonight and hopefully shoot some footage on Saturday. any thing that i should know about the camera before using it? you know stuff like charge the battery completely before using it or make sure you format the card in camera or anything that i would only know about if i experienced it and not read it in a manual.

thanks in advance

hey there's no memory card in the box . now I'm pissed. i thought they come with an 8gb card. any one have any ideas of what could of happend.

edit: maybe they dont. i think i was wrong. well time to order one
