Hi guys,
Sorry what to tell that but the Panasonic Ag Hmc 151 is really bad camera!
Bought it last year in September and a month of my nerves, sleepless nights was wasted until i figure it out how the AVCHD files convert in avi that work. Wasted 1500$ on firecoder blu(which I throw in garbage becouse i dont need it, panasonic gave me Edius Neo booster) and 6TB of hard disks . In low light is soo bad, sometimes i feel realy sad about that, makes me right that moment crash it on the floor. That yellow felling on camera is disgustful, and "Full HD" format comparing with Hd from Sony z7, z5 and canon xh-a1 is not even close good as their (watched on sony ps3 and sony bravia 45").
So if you wont to buy this camera don't!! save more money and buy camera with you will be pleased.
Sorry for my english i am from Croatia, grammar is not that perfect.

Wow. Your experience is not like most of us that have it. Do me a favor, pull the Firecoder Blu out of the trash and send to me. I don't quite know how you spend $1500 on it since they cost $479 at B&H.

No offence, but did you just go out and bought such an expensive device without any research?
All the things you mentioned, are easy to find out before buying.
Panasonics prosumer cams so far always favored an organic "filmlike" image over the supersharp HD-look.
That´s actually the reason most people get a Pana...

As a little remedy: get the plugin from neatvideo.com for noisereduction. For me as an early HVX embracer this software does miracles!
But if you´re doing event work in barely lit rooms, you should either look at a 5D or on of the 2/3" guns out there...

The low light on the HMC150's are great for the price... A lot of people on here do low light event work and swear by it (like me). Yeah a 2/3rd and 5D with clean glass is going to pull more light - but that cost more $$$. I just try and add an off camera comer LED to any situation that has no light. And to be pissed you purchased something that you didn't need is totally unrelated to the camera - any camera has its learning curve, its best to study up. This forum has answered the top 100 HMC questions many times over...

With respect, it sounds like you just don't know how to use the camera. As Sparticus mentioned, that is all stuff that could have very easily been learned before buying. As far as low light, I'm not sure what you're talking about. This camera is great in low light.

Rather than write a long rant, perhaps it would be better to try and be more specific about the issues you're having, and we here can probably help you. What exactly is the issue you're having with low light? What about the image do you find so inferior to the Sony Z series and Canon's?

Bad camera... bad world... bad internet... bad really bad! Put the HMC to the "Naughty corner".

I hope you didn't get a pirated eastern european Panasonic camera. Check the Panasonic name properly on the body of your camera... maybe they missed out an alphabet.

For me, the HMC is the ideal lightweight prosumer HD cam for going in and out the tropical rainforest everyday to shoot or standing for hours doing a handheld in crowded locations. It may not perform like a 7.62mm calibre heavy Ak-47 but a durable 5.56mm calibre workhorse like an M-16 that gets the job done.

Hope Panasonic will reward me for the above promotion!(NOT)

Wow! I actually love my HMC150, the footage I get is pretty clean. While there is no interchangeable lenses, yada, yada, it still is a BEAST for that price. Sorry to hear your bad experiences about it buddy.

Seems like some one didn't learn to use it properly. I've filmed in *really low light* and with a small kiss of neat video things came out really well.

In terms of playing full HD on a large screen, I hope you weren't standing too close ;)

Subject like this contribute nothing to this community.

I wish a mod would modify it to reflect the real issues a user is having and can be remedied.

this is a mild form of Croatian depression, was a hard winter and it took him more than 6 months to come to a conclusion which can be easily fabricated only reading some 'professional' user comments. Please relax, winter is over, you have a wonderful sunny country, take out your camera and enjoy the great - sometimes opulent - 'vegetarian' dinners at the seaside
