HMC-150 trade for 5mkII

Well.... I have an HMC and GH1, so talk to me about why you would want to do this?

Assuming you have the hack firmware on the GH1, what is it that you think the 5D2 will give you that the HMC + GH1 combo won't?

The ONLY reason I can think of is if you also do stills and need the 21MP and you are willing to spend another $4K - $5K on decent glass, because the 5D2 is pretty unforgiving with crap glass. Been there - done that. I had $15K + of Canon glass at one point and sold the lot.

GH1 + Hack Firmware + reasonable glass (i.e. and adapter + Nikon or Canon FD or Leica) is as good or bette than most people are capable of exploiting to the max.
 
If its for the full frame sensor, and the stills then yes. This camera takes some of the sickest pics I've seen. if for video only then no. I use the nikon glass for my work and couldn't be happier.
 
My two cents, full frame sensor has two serious considerations razor thin DOF and expensive glass. Full frame is using way more of the lens, you can get away with a lot more with a camera sensor crop because you are using just the center of the lens; with full frame you are going to be dealing with a lot of vignetting and chromic aberration on cheaper lenses.
 
Negative... gh1 and HMC are a pretty good match... a 5D and a gh1 are not going to get you any further, unless you are doing photog. When it comes to video you will be far more restricted to what you can shoot only having DSLRs.

No reason. I just thought the mkii had some nice video. I made my mind up already but thanks for backing up what I felt.
