Greetings,

I've been having alot of issues with my HMC 150 in regards to shooting under fluorescent lights. What this causes is a CONSTANT FLICKER in my footage. I have used specific scene mode specified in camera but that doesnt work out for me. Additionally I have incremented/decremented shutter speeds and that too didn't cut it for me. Any help in eliminating flicker under different external lighting conditions will be greatly appreciated.

Its likely that you failed to use a compatible frame rate and shutter speed. These should be in even multiples of the mains frequency. For example, in a 60 Hz country, shoot at 30 or 60 fps and at 1/30 or 1/60 shutter speed. You might get away with 24 fps but at 1/30 or 1/60, test to find out. But 1/24 and 1/48 will give visible artifacts.

If you have time, watch this guys series on fluorescent bubls. He explains pretty good why there is flicker, and then he has made a setup with T8 bubls. I followed his instruction on the DIY flo rig, and have used it for 7 months now. It looks professional, gives great results, and was cheap. When I go to a job site, I will turn their fluorescent bulbs off, and use mine. It is a little work to transport thought to make sure they don't break. But I am used to it.
