History video

Wow. That's really professional. All with the DVX? Impressive.

The animations (the beginning, the people's names fading into the screen) are what really make it so much similar to a History Channel program, or something you would see on television.

This is really professional stuff.

What did you do in post? Do you have an animator who makes the graphics custom for you?

That was very nice work. Great lighting and cc. From the begining to the end it was professional. Like ffaf07 said, it could have been on History Channel.

What was your lighting setup?

What Mic did you use, the sound was very warm?

Keep up the good work and all the best

It looked good for the most part, and it was pretty compelling. My one beef would be the camera wobble when the second guy comes to the camera. Not to mention the cough in the background.

I enjoyed this clip. I have been wanting to Interview this old guy I know who was underwater demolition which is the first of the navy seals way back when. And his experiences thru the wars. I think the audio in the clip had some echo to it. Did you use any dampening boards? Or is it just from the room? Also the cough and some background stuff going on was an annoyance. But overall, nice job. And kept me interested with the extra pictures.

Thanks so much. I love history, and I love production, so this one was a win-win for me.

Just color correction with the new MB. Everyone should really check it out, so much more useful, and the render time is faster. I did the graphics myself in AE. Took some time, but I like how it turned out for the most part. Originally I thought the intro was too short and my quick fix was just slowing it down in AE. I thought it did very well. I didn't lose too much quality with the change.

"What was your lighting setup?"

Haha. Well, I planned on doing my own lighting but when I walked into the department of archives i noticed this massive window in the back, and that's what I used. Natural light is my favorite if I have the choice.

"What Mic did you use, the sound was very warm?"

I used a Azden SGM1. Love it, and the best part; I got it for $130.

"My one beef would be the camera wobble when the second guy comes to the camera. Not to mention the cough in the background."

I agree, I was in mid-pan and that's where that came from. Just didn't quite have enough pictures to cover the hiccup in motion. And the cough is irritating as well, but I needed the comment, so I had to go with it.

Kdawg - It was all from the room. Nothing to contain sound. If I had more time I could tried some things, but that's the best I could do based on my schedule and equipment that day. Oh, to have one full day to do this stuff. =)

Wow, what an incredible piece of video!

The lighting was incredible, at some points I wondered if that was a fake background (green screen) because the background was just perfect.

Truly amazing

O I wish I had never been scammed...
