1DC: Histogram while recording - possible?

I just got a 1DC and I'm just playing around with it. So far when I hit record the histogram vanishes from the screen. Does anyone know if there's a way to change this setting?
I checked the manual and there's no mention of this.
 
Nope, for any basic viewing tool while recording you have to get an extr
ernal monitor or EVF.
