Like an ENGINEER video out that would NOT be an overlay but dedicated to JUST displaying gamma curves/histogram/levels/etc (switchable). Could also be HD SDI/BNC composite switchable.

Yeah, I really want a histogram display. It could even be overlaid on the main output if this could be quickly turned on and off.
