This is a video shot by Steve Staffan(dont know if he is on here)

The video is from a hip-hop artist in ohio.

My newb question is:

Is the 7D THAT good(with the Sigma 30mm 1.4)?

Or is there alot of post production?. I just purchased a fx1000 this weekend if I cant create images close to that, think I might take it back to the store

Any opinions are appreciated.

Looks like there is CC and effects added in post... just hard to know "how much"

I guess they were going for a more overexposed look too... The lens is looking like its a champ though.

Thanks appreciate the input. Its my fault for not knowing how well dslr took video before I purchased

Thinking maybe i shoulda have went with that instead of the 3k i spent on the fx1000. lol

There are many threads on the subject... a DSLR is in no way a replacement for a real pro video camera (with AF, Articulating LCD, Long Record times, Zebras, XLR, Audio levels, etc.)

But if its just image you need (like in cine work - shorts and music videos) dlrs shine because you can put whatever lens you want on there...
