I'm looking for the highest visual quality, most stabile GH1 MJPEG 720p30 4:2:2 settings. I'm currently using the Blackout-Powell patch for AVCHD but I'd like to know what the best MJPEG options are, because if I need to shoot something quickly for the news, MJPEG is a faster FCP workflow than AVCHD.

i'll try by myself to find some good settings. i'll post later (as for now - i already got good results in FCP using 720p30 4:2:2). will search more info for mjpeg settings.

Thank you. You could also try looking at the settings built into various lpowell patches

i still searching and shooting in different modes.
from one hand - mjpeg 720 4:2:2 is good enough in "100Mbps Max Latitude Native 24/25p Patch" in mjpeg part.
from other hand - quality depends on more factors than mbps or colour sampling. mostly it depends on ISO, shutter speed, and 90% of quality is on lens (and how bright and fast it are).

in my turn i've got Helios 44-2 which is Russian lens with F=58 and f=2 which is based on Carl Zeiss Jena "Biotar" 2/58.
and i still testing different iso's and shutter speed in different situations, but mainly i can't find a situation where i must have so high bit rate... mainly i need mostly an opportunity to preview videos right in camera preview, and i thing i will try to find lower bit rate options.

if only i could have enough time to test...mmm

p.s. sorry for my English. I'm from Russia ;)

Your english is fine. Quality depends on lots off factors but I think what we're discussing is the MJPEG compression, so bitrate and 4:2:2 and good things to consider. I'll play with the Max Latitude patch, thanks!
