Highest ISO for Television Production w/7D ??

theres footage we produced off 7D shot at 1250 ISO, f/2.8 1/50 shutter at not so greatly lit building and looked super on sony 60" (BluRay)... so it all depends. u cant just ask what iso

Also depends on your color grading. I wouldn't name names but I'd be shocked if some of the higher profile 5D M2 projects out in the world didn't undergo at least a bit of digital restoration i.e. denoising as part of their color grade...

I would only use the following ISO's on the 7D:

160
320
640
1250
1600

But I would be very careful with the last two.

The reason for using those ISO's instead of 100, 200, Etc.. is because those ISO's produce the lowest noise.

The key word is 'super'. Just proves you are asking a subjective question regarding taste and eye.

Not to mention other variables brought up by Noah and others. Do a camera test, run through post production workflow, and take it to the release form you plan on. Then look at it. If it passes your quality control preferences, that is by all means your creative choice.

There is not a standard set by any committee or etc.
