Hi all,
Hopefully I'm not in the wrong part of the forum or asking a question with an obvious answer, but I've spent the past three weeks reading everything I've found on GH2 + hack and tested with what I've have (EU GH2, 1.1 firmware, Tamron 17-50 f2.8 Nikon mount + adapter and Transcend 8GB SDHC cards) and enjoying the hell out of Driftwood's "Quantum X (v4d Orion) 'Dark Matter' Matrix Pack + HBR FIX - CBR 'Settings'". I'm just using 24L since my card can't handle 24H, but either way I love the image, the grain-like noise and the extra freedom when CC/grading! Thanks Mr Vitaly and Mr Driftwood, if you ever come to the South East of Sweden my door is open
Like I said, I use the above patch with 24L, that's what I shoot my films with (at least from now on). But it looks like I'll have some interviews coming up, and they need to be in 25p. I tried HBR with Orion and it worked great quality-wise, very close to the quality of 24p. But it didn't span like 24p which worked perfectly and filled my card.
I've heard that patches may or may not work due to cards, lenses and what not... I've spent so many hours on Personal-View lately and my head is hurting by all research and people saying "test for yourself"... but seriously, that forum is a mess... I can't try every patch, there are millions of them! Ok, not that many, but it's getting close!
Anyone advice for a confused Swede? I also tried the latest Flow Motion but I didn't try 25p and spanning with that one, liked Orion better... But it seems pretty stable. Anyway to combine these in Ptool perhaps? So I don't have to re-install patches between jobs? I'm a geek, but all this reading + doing it while staying up late has not been good to my head...
